Fall Past 2011

Updating this post to Fall Past.

Paula Deen’s Chocolate Pecan Layer Cake!!!!!  TO DIE FOR! That icing is carmel…oh me, oh my!!!!!
This is a perfect cake for this time of year! There is just nothing that smells better in the house then baking a cake!  The icing is sooooo delish!  The smell will make you gain 5lbs…. ;)  I didn’t do a layer cake with this like the recipe calls for, instead I did a bunt cake.  This recipe can be found here

…..Welcoming Fall….Let me apologize for the blurry pictures coming up!  The battery was low on the camera…at least that’s what I’m blaming it on… ;)
I just love how Fall colors add so much warmth to a home, I guess that’s why I love those colors  all year!

DSC08755 Pumpkins sitting all around, candy waiting for trick or treaters, candles burning in the evening, and something good baking in the oven….just makes a house a home!

Post 4…..Replaced Rug…….
DSC08707  I’ve replace the rug in the great room…I love all things leopard and I love the warmth it instantly added to this area!

Told you I love all things leopard…even pumpkins!  Yes, I know its a yard stake but it’s a magazine stake inside… ;)

Post 5……More Fall
My son told me before I left for vacation, that I had waaaaay toooo much “stuff” on this table!  I told him to stick to learning business in college…and leave the decorating to me….lol….but I think he might just be right!  Thinking that rooster needs to go to the attic!  Notice the poofy napkins………

I love thick layered napkins…I used 3 napkins to get the poofy look.

Post 6…… Kitchen Picture ;)
The kitchen is looking better y’all!  Still looking for bar stools, found some I think I’m going to order soon.  Lets talk…………………

Post 7……. Tea Pots
Ran upon these at Marshalls the other day….could not pass them up….while I was waiting on hubby to grab a buggy to put them in….I had to guard them with my life!  One lady approached me and ask if I was going to buy all 3 of them?  Well, DUH!!!  NUFF SAID!
I just love the little birdies on the lids!  And since I HEART all things birds…I had to have them!

Post 8……..Let’s go see what down the hallway…….
Close your eyes…..it’s a surprise!

It’s a Duncan Phyfe dining set!  FINALLY…..after 6 mos of looking on craigs list I found one worth buying.  Looking for a sideboard now!
And notice the table runner….I purchased this from Sonya at Beyond The Screen Door Designs….Sonya does wonderful work!

The rug that was in the great room is now in here.  Next….get the pictures hung, Nancy!!!!!

Planning to change the seat fabric!! QUICKLY!!!  The black is okay, but I have something else in mind and it will be a quick and easy fix!

I fell in love at first sight with these chairs!  The chairs sold the table for me! And speaking of CHAIRS……….

Post 9……….. Remember these……..
chairs I got these at a yard sale back in 2008.  I showed them to you here.  I paid 10 dollars for both chairs.  Some one had tried to glazed them and really they were ugly…this picture doesn’t show just how U G L Y they WERE!!!!……BUT finally….

DSC08738 They have been refinished, repaded and new toile fabric!  They go wonderful with the new Duncan Phyfe.

Finally Post 10…..We have a new exercise program…. ;)
Her name is Miss Coco!  She is a full Chocolate Lab we adopted from the local shelter….she is 7 mos old, and we should have named her…..

Lucky….she had a “ruff” start to life…. ;)  She is a very good natured lab and we have just fell in love with her.  She will sit, stay or give you five!  She loves to fetch, play ball, run with toys in her mouth, OH and JUMP in the water!  She loves to take walks and we love to walk her!  She has really been good for us!  She keeps us moving and after 40 YOU NEED TO MOVE! ;)

Well….if your still with me on this long, forever post…..I would love to hear from you!  I appreciate all the comments and visits!  How I wish I could post more, but it’s just impossible for me at this time in my life, maybe someday that will change, as life is always changing, we never know what’s around the next corner.
I send y’all much love this Fall and I hope you enjoy this refreshing season, get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful and colorful sights!

Everything looks so nice, Nancy! I need to get counter stools for our new place, too. Haven't seen anything I like yet, but I'm not in any hurry. I would love to see what you got. Love those teapots and your other whites in the kitchen.

Hi Friend! I've been to Dallas for two days and it's so nice to come back and see your post. :)

Your house is just beautiful. I knew it would be. That leopard rug is to die for! I love that you've kept your southern style but it is fresh and new.

We are getting a Marshalls here maybe this weekend or next. I can't wait. I grew up shopping at Marshalls in Dallas and have always missed it.

Now please keep us posted and share more pics of your pretty home.

Having so much fun catching up with you Nancy. I check back often to see if you've posted and was so excited to see these new pix of your lovely home. I'm just in awe! I thought your last home was gorgeous and this one is just as amazing. I'm a leopard girl too (find a girl in Jersey who isn't!) and I love that rug!
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. I'd love for you to stop by sometime and give me your (honest) opinion on my home. I'm challenged when it comes to window treatments. I LOVE Beyond the Screen Door and was just admiring her runners yesterday. Yours is beautiful.
Take care!
