A Little Photo Helper

I want to first thank all of you for coming by yesterday!  I think most of you really loved the Lantana!  It really is a EASY flower to maintain! Fast growing!  No dead heading! Minimal water! Beautiful color! and a Butterfly attracter!!!  If you didn’t get by here yesterday….you can see the Lantana in the post below this one!  Thanks again to everyone!!!!!

I know if you blog…you’re a picture taker…and tho..you might not keep every picture you make, you can relate to how pictures and picture albums and boxes can pile up!  I am always on the look out for something picture related for my home!  Now, I know most decorators will say….”Put the personal pictures away”,but I of course can NOT and will NOT do that!  I love my pictures and I’m not trying to sell my home…so I WILL have my pictures displayed with TASTE.  I’ll never forget back on my RMS days, when someone left me a comment telling me to put the family pictures away….WHAT!!!! No can do!!!!  NEVER!!!!!  However for a BRIEF moment…I did it!  I did it! I put most of them away….Let me tell you….that didn’t last long!  I was so unhappy with that decision.  It was a HAPPY DAY when I put all my pictures back out!

touch of class For the last 3 years I have wanted this photo organizer, above….I would dog ear the page of the catalog I would see it in here, every time one came in the mail….BUT….{there’s always a BUT} it was and still is $165.00…..oh, but honey, it holds 597 photos!!!  It wouldn’t take up any of my “shelf” storage…it would fit in most any little spot!  Next to a chair…Yeah!  Next to a table…Yeah!  Anywhere!!!  I could even use several of them…maybe one in ever room!  One for each of the boys….Oh my ideas in my head kept building for 3 years….BUT…I couldn’t pay $165.00….no way….not any day!  It was a dream and stayed on my wish list!

And, then my wish came true!!!!!

sa This catalog came in the mail and normally I throw it away…and don’t even look at it…but this time, I set down and flipped through it!!!  Oh it was a happy moment when my eyes landed on this beauty!

sa2 It was $79.95 marked 41% off making it $46.99…..I didn’t wait another moment….I called and ordered it!!!  It was a little different.  It was black…which I liked better….It had a little flat “shelf” on the top….which I liked better!  And, it only holds 485 photos, but that’s still alot of pictures!!! And for $46.99 I couldn’t go wrong!!!

DSC07032 It came quickly!!!!  In a million pieces!!!  This is not the part I enjoyed!!!! NO sir reeeeeee!!!  It really only took about 30 mins. to put together, but it was 30 mins of torture, for me. lol ;)

DSC07036 At last….it was put together…I think…lol ;)

DSC07035 Just look at all that future photo storage!!!!

DSC07034 Filling it will be a Winter time project! ;)

DSC07145 I didn’t waste anytime putting some pictures in the front of each drawer.

DSC07142 It sits in a kitchen corner….just the perfect spot!

DSC07143 It was meant to be….don’t you think!?

So tell me, what are some of your photo storage ideas!  Do you scrapbook every picture or just a few….do you put yours in albums…by the year or event?  Do you use the storage boxes?  Share with me some of your ideas!

~Shoe Show News~

If you love shoes….and what woman doesn’t…You will want to come back by tomorrow for all the details!

Hope y’all have a wonderful day!!! Blessings to you all!!!!  Nancy

Congrats on your find! I love it when we have something in our hearts and then we find it, much much cheaper. Patience pays off!

I love your idea and I think it looks great.

As for me, I'm horrid with pictures. I have a few out, but thats it. I did make scrapbooks for our children with special times in their lives.

Now that's a great find! Sadly, I do have my albums away and I am not happy with that...there are just so many and different sizes! Plus, my poor third child hardly made it into albums-photoboxes and on my computer-terrible! I will take a look at your find! Thanks!

What a good idea. You found a neat picture holder plus it's a surface to sit something cute on. I have to say that I had a zillion pictures on my computer...up until a few weeks ago when the computer crashed. They are all gone now. My son's first prom pictures are gone. That is something I will not do again!

A few years ago, I went thru all my pictures, organizing, sending tons of them home with my children, puting in albums, etc. Did I keep up with doing it - Nope!
I pulled everything out a few days ago and was going to get it up to date and there it sits -untouched. :)

How cute is that! What a great photo storage idea and it looks cute especially with the birdcage topper!

My husband saw this thing on QVC where you just scan in you photos and then you can burn them to a disk or upload them to an online photo storage site. We inherited so many, many old photos when my MIL died that are just jumbled in boxes. I've been dreading that task of going through them and organizing them. So I think we may go with that.

Hi Nancy, Love the DEAL you found. It works so well in your kitchen and with your style. What a great find! I personally only put mine in photo storage boxes but I would very much like to have them organized in some manner. I don;t know when I will ever find the time, though. We're talking every photo for the past -- years!

Hi Nancy,
They say all good things come to those who wait, and your waiting really paid off. I would love to have one of these to hold my photos, and am going to check it out. It only took 30 mins to put together Girl you would have beat me by a mile, I probably would still be working on it. LOl
It looks gorgeous in your kitchen.

Commenting on OW, your flowers are beautiful and I agree lantana is one of the best plants to grow,The colors of your flowers are so pretty, and do you know why scruffy hangs out ay your house , because there is a Southern Lady who lives there, that's why. and we all know that a Southern Lady knows how to make one feel welcomed.
Thank you for visiting, and for your sweet comments which always encourage me.
Hugs,
Sue

What a neat neat idea! I keep ours in albums but no one ever seems to look at them once there put away. I think your new picture holder would invite people to view pictures more often. I love it!

Hey, Nancy just wanted to let you know my photo holder came in Sat. I got it put together and full of picture, need about 6 more just like it to even start getting all my pictures in it...lol...48 yrs of picture taking equals a lot of pics...lol..I am going to sit down and go through all my pictures and just put the best of the best in this one. DH told me to order another one and use them one on each side of my entertainment center. Just might do that. I have some very old family snap shots that I want to put in one. Could always get several and put on in the bedroom.
Thanks for finding it and sharing.

We have so many picture albums that we haven't brought them all to the new house yet. 3 huge albums and lots of video from our China trip alone. I chose my favorite photo from each trip, chose a beautiful frame, and put it on top of the piano with many others. Fortunately, we currently have 3 pianos. I'm saving for a concert grand which will probably have candelabra and now pictures.

One of my favorite pictures is of my aunt during WWI. She was taking her first solo flight in a biwing airplane. What a character she was!
