A Peek Into The Corners Of My Kitchen

Oh, I am so tired! Trying to recoup from working last week…{not use to that at all}….Catch up with house cleaning, dusting {oh my}, vacuuming,  laundry, weeding, errand running…etc…Oh, and Blogging!  And, that blogging is the fun part…yes sir ree!  Except, for when you get behind…then blogging is not so fun, and right at this moment I feel…so far behind…so please know that I am working on making my visits!!!  Just be patient with me!   I told y’all that I had a couple of request to show more of my house. Well, in all the cleaning…I played a little house and changed some little things around.   So lets start with the corners of the Kitchen. corner cabinets 001 I have 2 corner cabinets that are built in with glass doors. I love to change the knick knacks around in them, when I clean them.

corner cabinets 002 This cabinet tends to hold my over flows of plates, glass pitchers and glass dishes.

corner cabinets 003 The fruit bowl in the center was given to us 23 years ago, when we got married as a wedding gift, from our (now) pastor and his wife.

corner cabinets 004 I heart glass pitchers and I have a hard time passing them up!  I usually have a couple in the fridge with juice and tea…you can see a couple more of them here in the back of this cabinet.

corner cabinets 005 I love the little glass pitcher sitting there, from my Mom…and the butter dish is from Momma too.

corner cabinets 006 The other corner cabinet houses my Boobie Glass collection.

corner cabinets 007 This Boopie Glass Collection belonged to my Grandmother.  I have googled the Boopie Glass but I can’t find any history on it.  I was told by Momma that, she thinks….

corner cabinets 008 her Dad use to buy a glass, for her Mom every time, he bought gas for the car…but Mom is not sure that is how my grandmother had all these…she does know that her Dad obtained them 1 at a time…and it had to be before 1954 because my Mom’s Dad…my grandfather passed away that year.  If any of you ladies know the history of Boopie Glass I would love to know it.

corner cabinets 009 Just more knick knacks…I wished I had pulled out the little lantern on the left…back behind the gravy boat…that little green lantern belong to my grandmother, as well.

corner cabinets 011 This little fruit bowl was given to me by my Aunt Alice, 25+ years ago!

corner cabinets 012 Please excuse the messy kitchen here…it’s hard to find a moment when it is spotless!

corner cabinets 013 corner cabinets 020 I have 2 of these corner cabinets that sit in the kitchen also.  I am forever changing out the decor inside them, but for now here is how they look.

You see that green planter sitting up there on top…well…I am very afraid, that one of these days it’s going to cause that whole cabinet to fall over! ….At first it was fine sitting there…then I stared putting my Paula Magazines in it…and now it is heavy as lead, and this cabinet doesn’t act like it is sturdy enough to hold all that weight….I really need to move that green planter!  I’m just now sure where to put the thing!  I have spent hrs thinking about that problems….any ideas, y’all?????

corner cabinets 019 I love this little bunny couple,  just bought them this year after Easter….but y’all know bunnies are not just for Easter!  I think he is telling her, he loves her….what do you think he might be saying to her??

corner cabinets 016

Here’s another little corner I am always tweaking!  You have probably noticed this one in the header photo.

corner cabinets 017

corner cabinets 015

This is the other corner cabinet…just like the one up there with the green plates….this hold black and white plates, and honey when I loaded these pics I realized I didn’t take a full length picture of this cabinet….so I went back into the kitchen and took the full length pic…but….

 corner cabinets 014

for some crazy reason…the computer is having a devil moment and won’t let me load the new picture!!! GRRR!

I decided to keep out the carrots after Easter…for now the are laying on top of the cabinet and on some of the selves…not sure I like them laying there, but they are too cute to put away!

Well ladies, that is The Corners Of My Kitchen.  I hope you have enjoyed peeking into the corners!  There is more to come!

I want to thank everyone that takes the time to stop by and leave a comment!  I do read them all!  I have several comments to reply back to from past post…I promise I’m working on them!

Hi friend! Your kitchen is beautiful. I have a question.. the hood above your range. Is that vine hand painted or is it a wood applique? Show that sometime, it looks so neat.

I like all of your corner cabinets. I'm ashamed to say that I have glass front cabinets in my kitchen too and they've been the same for years. Not because they are neglected but because I like them as they are. Time for a change, right?

Nancy you have impeccable taste. I LUV all your corners. All I have in my corners are cobwebs. LOL LOL!

Girlie, I have some Boopie Glass too! Didn't know that was what it was called though. My momma has had it all my life and I have always loved it. Momma had eight tall glasses and she gave me four of them a couple of months ago. The other four will go to my sister. Momma said my Aunt Lucy got them for her years and years ago. I'll try and find out all about them and let you know.

Talking about an accent.....girl you've never her an accent until you hear mine. Very thick, very southern and I talk REALLY fast!!!!
We'll see how many are interested. I just thought it would be fun to put a voice to a face.

Have a wonderful week Nancy.

I love it all Nancy! I left my bunnies out too. I finally placed the "eggs" back in the closet, but the bunnies are out for spring. :o)

I love your cabinets and the way you have them decorated. Beautiful as always!

Nancy, everything is beautiful and just my style. I'd find myself right at home in your house!

Also, I love your green plates. I've collected them for a few years now myself. I need to find a 2 or 3 tiered plate rack so that I can display them on the wall. I did find one on Ebay, I just need to get it ordered.

Love your kitchen!

I think Mr. Bunny has already told Mrs. Bunny that he loves her. I think now he is whispering, "Are you sure?". Yup, they are expecting AGAIN!! After all, it is spring!

Hi Nancy,
Everything looks so pretty as usual! I love your corner glass front kitchen cabinets! They are so nice for display. I love the boopie glass too...It looks so pretty in there with the white.
I think Mr Bunny is telling Mrs Bunny "look at this lovely home we got so lucky to come and live in!"
How are the puppies?

Nancy your kitchen is beautiful! I love everything about it. The white cabinets are gorgeous. I agree that you would be safe to move the container off of the top of the corner cabinet but you certainly can't hide Paula. I am sure you have a spot for her somewhere.

Hi Nancy hope you're having a wonderful day...its so nice in my neck of the woods really warm for us but tomorrow it's going to be back in the 60's still nice no complaints here...

Thanks for showing us all your little corners, so pretty !!!

I think Mr. Bunny is asking Mrs. Bunny if she's ready for a carrot...better check the top of your other cabinet...he's gonna make a run for it !!

All the best,
Kathy :)

Oh, Nancy..your kitchen is just beautiful. The Boopie glass was made by Anchor Hocking in the 40's and 50's but I have no idea if they were given away at gas stations or not...I know when I was a little girl and young teen, service stations DID give away dishes at times.....
Oh, and about my wanting to paint my buffet BLACK..nope, I had lots of black furniture way before I ever started blogging. Hugh Pottery Barn fan !!

I love your kitchen tour. I really love the green glasses. I have never heard of bloopie glass. If your majolica planter is in peril of crashing down I would be happy to take it off your hands for you :-) I love the majolica!!!

I do love red! I shall have to remember this date. I had to enlarge your kitchen photo, as I adore what you've done. I wish I had built in corner cabinets like that. Had them once in an old house for the early 1900s. I do like that green planter on top of that cabinet you're concerned about (it looks good there with the dishes inside). I am trying to think what I'd do. Maybe secure the cabinet to the wall with small screws inside? Or sometimes I have added a coin under the front edges to tip it back a little.

There is something about those green dishes in your kitchen that just make me drool. Sorry I guess you're going to have to mop up that puddle now!

Gorgeous! Every photo is like candy! But I love the story behind your grandma's green glass! What a wonderful family heirloom!

Hi Nancy,
Just love your kitchen. I wish my corner cabinet looked this great, but then again that's why it doesn't have glass on it :)

What a coincidence, about the boopie glasses, my mom and I were just looking for them last week at the antique store. We had know idea what they were called, but quite a few years back my cousins broke a few and she is hoping to replace them. I don't know how they were acquired.

Thanks for sharing!
