Doors To Adore

Today is Doors to Adore party over at Kari and Kijsa, so I am joining in the fun.  We all know that our front doors make a statement about our homes and what is on the other side of the door.  But, I like unique, different…out of the ordinary doors on the inside as well…….pantry door

This is my pantry door, I saw this door in a Romantic Homes magazine when we were building this house and had to have it….come to find out….You can order them from Home Depot.   It’s different, unexpected and decorative.

front door  First impression door….I have always made sure that everything on and around my front door and porch looks clean and fresh…cleaning the front door is part of my cleaning routine….It’s not very welcoming to have someone walk up the front door and see,  cob webs,  finger prints, rusty door knob, dirty lights or a weathered front door, I could go on and on….these are all fixable and preventable ….It doesn’t take much effort to clean the door.  I am often asked, how do you keep your door knob looking so shinny and clean, well, I clean it weekly…keeping the oils from your hands off of the door knob will help to preserve the finish. porch This is our porch last Summer.  It’s not uncommon for me to clean those columns and windows on the porch weekly.  I would rather have dusty furniture, then to have a dirty front porch….It’s my pet peeve…I guess, you figured that out already!  ;)

sun door This is our little side porch.  We had no idea we would use it like we do or it would have had a roof over it…and maybe someday!  For now the canvas umbrella awning works great and it does give a place to stand out of the rain, when coming into the house.

I hope you all have enjoy my Door tour today.  So how about joining in the fun over at Kari and Kijsa’s and show your Adorable Doors.

Oh, have you notice a new little look around here?  Tara’s been at it again!  Thank you so much Miss Tara!  I’m sure I’ll be coming up with another idea one day, but I love my new look for now!!!!!..I know you dread to see those emails from me…LOL :)

I hope you all are having a wonderful week.  Blessings!

Omigosh Nancy - once a week! ONCE A WEEK! You clean that front porch once a week??? I have a "farmhouse" style home with a covered front porch. Poor thing is lucky if it gets cleaned once a year! I sweep and windex the front door alot, but not the nitty gritty stuff like you do. I'm pitiful aren't I?

I love all your doors, especially the pantry. I bought a leaf blower and it has made keepin' my porches clean so much easier.
Good post.

Your pantry door is precious. I've never seen one like that before. I'll have to store it away in my "what I want in my house when dh gets out of the army" file.

I do adore your doors! Do you really clean your windows on your front porch once a week? Well, now your just showing off! Come and do mine, or just make me feel guilty that will do the trick. I'm off to find the windex, bye for now!

My first visit! You are SO right. I cannot tell you the number of events I have been to in homes where the inside was perfect, but the hostess had obviously never looked at the front door-the first impression! Yours is gorgeous by the way!

What a wonderful front porch you have - quite charming! Keeping a porch clean is important {guess I'd better pay a wee bit more attention to that!} Loved your pantry door! We saw the same thing and thought we'd do a door to the bathroom like that - it has no windows in the room, so we thought it would add more light coming in.
Thanks for showing us around!
