~Comfort Food For Cold Winter Days~

About the only good thing I can think of when it comes to Winter is the comfort food that feels our home~ One of the best foods to make on a cold Winter day is homemade bread! Oh, and the smell of bread baking is a delight! You don't even have to be hungry...but when the aromas of baking bread feels the home ...you just can't wait to butter it up and enjoy! I know this is nothing new to y'all, but I hope to send you a little comfort to get you through the cold days of Winter~
Everyone has their own special way for making potatoes, but around here sour creme and butter is the order~

This has become our favorite meal for this Winter....Hot Roast Beef Sandwich....so good!
TIP~ When I look for a Roast...I always buy one big enough to get 3 meals out of it. First meal~ I do the traditional roast with potatoes and carrots
Second meal ~ I do the hot roast beef sandwiches or Beef & Noodles and the Third Meal~ I make homemade Vegetable Soup with the left over beef and gravy~
This saves a lot of money and it makes it EASY for me, These are quick and delicious meals...that you just can't beat with a ten foot pole...as my Mom always says....lol ;)

Good News~Tomorrow Wed. Feb. 4~ I will be the featured blog on Secrets in the Sauce~ I am so excited to be getting this chance. SITS is a fantastic blog that features a blog everyday. If you haven't ever been to visit with the Sits girls...then don't wait any longer! Go over there and read all about them! Heather and Tiffany are great gals! To visit them you can click on their button on my side bar, or the link above.
Thank You~ I want to thank every one that has signed up for my 100th post giveaway! You girls have made my week with all the wonderful comments! If you haven't yet signed up....you still have time! Read all about it in the post below....titled 100th post celebration! I want all of you to know...that I am working on getting around to each and every one of you, to personally thank you! It is taken me forever, there are so many new names and when I go to your blogs to thank you...I get so wrapped up in reading and looking around...so just know that every comment and entry is appreciated and I will return them! Then all you faithfuls I haven't forgotten you either! I am making my way around slowly but surely!
What I am up to this week~ Cleaning! Trying to get a few things cleaned out and organized~ Mission impossible~! I have a couple of craft projects I am working on, but it is a slow process for me! I have come to 2 conclusions....1. don't turn on the putter until everything is done for the day! and 2. There just isn't enough hours in the day! Next, I have to brag a little here...I am working on two internet decorating consultations right now and let me tell you....I am loving it!!!! What a joy to work on these! They are both going to be fabulous! I am so thankful for these ladies giving me the opportunity to help them! I don't {think} I will be posting again until the weekend....I just have so many things going on right now!
Oh, some of you have ask about Hoss and Lucy~ so here is the update~ They went to the Vet again last week for another set of shots~ Hoss never meets a stranger....Lucy tries to hide from everybody~ they are so different! Hoss now weighs 26 lbs and Lucy weighs 24 lbs....I can't believe how big they are now! They are loosing that puppy look so fast! I do appreciate all of the questions about them!
Blessings to you all, Nancy

When I think of cold weather comfort food, I always think of fresh baked hot bread with lots of butter. I made some yesterday, it was a perfect cold day for it.

I meant to tell you earlier that love the picture of the front of your home. It's so southern. It reminds me of the subdivision I lived in when I was in SC, and it was so classic Southern. I miss it. Homes are more lodge-like (Craftsman) or Florida-ish here.

The hot roast beef sandwich and whipped potatoes makes me want to skip breakfast today and go right to the dinner hour. The way you photographed the food is amazing!!
