~It's A Bedroom Made Gorgeous~

A few weeks ago, Janera, at My Garden Hat sent me an email, she ask me for decor advise for her bedroom. Well, I have to tell you, that email was an answer to a prayer I had been praying.{I'll get back to that prayer later} I couldn't type my response email back to Janera fast enough~ My answer was with out a doubt, Yes, I would love to help you. Now, Janera lives in Texas and I live in Tennessee.....so just how did I plan on helping her?? She needed specific details, however, I couldn't go all the way to TX....but I didn't need to...Janera emailed me lots of pictures....so with that.....my wheels started turning! I told Janera what she needed to add...take out, paint...etc, and through items she already had and some items I found for her on Ebay....The bedroom Redesign turned out beautiful and Janera is very happy with it! All the pictures are clickable except for one. This is the way the room looked, when Janera decided it was time to redesign her haven. Ick!!!! {That was Janera's own word}

Then, Janera decided she wanted to paint her room a beautiful soft blue...she also had already bought the bedding and the curtains.....I thought her bedding and curtains...looked perfect together....so there wasn't any need to purchase new....Also, Janera doesn't like the matchy matchy look :) At this point I came into the picture and stared making my suggestions....and boy, did I have fun! First, I told her to take down the iron piece over the bed....it was too small and not a strong enough statement.....also, I ask her if she could get a bed skirt to add to the bottom of the bed....she already had a brown bed skirt that she wasn't using...so there wasn't any cost on adding it to the bed that was even better. But, what about something for over that bed....well, Janera had a GORGEOUS painting that....I think she had purchased at a thrift store.....and it was hanging over her Chest in the room......I told her to move it and hang it over the bed......sooo

She did....I loved it! and She loved it too. I told her to be watching at the thrift store she shops at, for a bench she could add to the foot of the bed.....well, she told me she had a bench in the garage that she wasn't using....I told her to paint it black and to distress it....she did....again no cost in that either...just the cost of the paint...and if I remember correctly .....she already had it too. I then told her that the bench needed pillows or one long pillow to lay on the top of it. I told her to go back to the store that she had bought the curtains and buy another panel....{Janera can sew....soooo that was a PLUS} I told her to make a long pillow for the bench that would match the curtains.....I wasn't sure if she was sold on that matching idea, but she was brave and went along with it! She did a wonderful job on making that pillow cover for the bench! I told her to add lots of pillows to the bed....and I tell you, one day she sent me a email and told me she had been out shopping and found 2 pillows that matched her curtain fabric! YEAH!!! A couple of the pillows I found for her on Ebay and sent them to her email....she loved them and bought them. She has another pillow not in this picture with her and her hubby's initials on it, that I found for her on ebay also. I also told her to add some plate groupings on each side of the painting over the bed....I think she is planning to add more plates as she finds them. Oh, and the matching rug...she found while out and about one day also! Great find Janera! Her side tables are recent finds and she didn 't want to paint them....so That was fine. However Janera, if the urge ever hits you........Black would be beautiful!

I have lost my picture of the other side of this room....{remember my computer problems} but her dresser is gorgeous with touches of black, creams and blues with a beautiful mirror that I told her she needed to add. One of the best parts of this redesign .....The total cost was almost nothing.....most everything Janera already had and wasn't even using it. She had to buy the pillows, plates, rug, and curtain panel to make the bench pillow.
One more time before...above and After many emails......below

This was a beautiful redesign to help with and what a pleasure it was to work with Janera! I' ll have to give Janera the credit for already knowing what she wanted, she had already started with the color and the bedding/curtain purchases, all I had to do was pull it together for her.

I want to thank Janera, for having the courage to send me that first email and asking for my help. I told you at the beginning it was an answer to a prayer. I had been praying about Internet decorating consulting....just not sure if I was ready to take the step....I had never discussed it on my blog. When I received the email, that was confirmation to me that it was the right time. All you gals that follow this blog are such talented decoraters and would never need my help, but if you are out there lurking around and you need a little help pulling together some of your ideas....just drop me a email...we will discuss the details through emails only and I would never post your pictures with out your consent. It would be a pleasure to help you with what ever decorating need you may have!

You can find my email on my profile page.

I hope y'all have enjoyed the Bedroom Redesign! Again, It was so much fun and a pleasure to work with Janera and she will never know how I appreciated the opportunity! Oh, and I want to throw a plug for Janera....she is a Gold Canyon Candle Co Rep. They are the best candles! They have lots of pretties too! Very strong and the whole candle burns...not just the middle! You can order the candles from her Gold Canyon website or contact her through her blog, if you love a good candle you will have to have one of these!

I want to thank all of you that sent me comments and emails about my computer problem! I am going to try to retrieve those pictures...someone told me if they were in a picture file...I should be able to get them back.... I have someone that is going to work on that for me. Thanks again! You gals are the best!

I don't want to end on a sad note, but I want all you prayer warriors out there to keep Vanessa at Lawsy Mercy in your prayers! She is a local blogger that I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of months ago....she was just laid off on her job! This is very devastating to her and her family....Not long after she started blogging...she had an eye condition to come up and then her son was in an accident....these circumstances took her away from blogging.....Things were finally starting to get back to normal for her and she had begin to blog again, and now this! I just ask that you keep them in your prayers. I know that this is happening everywhere! It seems to be affecting everyone.

I want to thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and visit a while! Blessings to you all, Nancy

You know I LOVE my bedroom, thanks to you! I can just go in there and LOOK and feel better. lol

Now, you are so sweet, but you have given me entirely too much credit. I want every one of your readers to know that the ideas were ALL yours, because I just didn't have any, except I knew I wanted blue walls.

As for the bedding, etc.? It was in the linen closet, but I didn't have a clue what to use.

You, my dear, are a genius!

I love to see redos on a thrifty budget that end up looking like a million bucks!! So great!

I was sorry to read you lost so many of your pictures when your computer crashed! My hubby gave "me" an external hard drive a while back so I could save our photos on that and keep them off the hard drive. I also have backed the precious ones up on CDs (I'm a bit behind in THAT dept. and must get all of the precious ones backed up!). Isn't it great to have Cyber "back ups" such as you did--although we can't count totally on those, I guess. Actually, I guess we can't count on any one avenue to save our photos! (I know NOTHING about computers, other than what my 18 year old "tech" friend tells me to do and he was a Geek at Best Buy!) :)
Loved catching up on your posts. Dana
