~Applewood Farmhouse~

Hey girls, are y'all hungry today??? Let's go do lunch. A few days ago we went up to Pigeon Forge, TN, just a short distance up the interstate. The Applewood Farms is one of my favorite place to eat! There is actually two restaurants on the Applewood Farms grounds. The first one is Applewood Farmhouse and the second one is Apple Barn...They both have the same menu's. There is always a huge wait at either one...we always check first with Apple Barn, well, this day the wait was 2 hours...YIKES....It's good...but not a 2 hour wait good when you are starving. We decided to go over to the Applewood Farmhouse and check out their wait time and it was only 30 min...so we waited. This is the first restaurant...Applewood Farmhouse....It was raining cats and dogs the day we went!!! That's my hubby walking in the orange jacket.

This is a huge barn that sits between the 2 restaurants...it is a store filled with all kinds of goodies you can purchase.

After you are seated at the restaurant you are served Apple Fritters and Apple Julep.....YUMMY!!! Lord have mercy these things are good! Here's the recipe for both the Fritters and the Julep.

Apple Fritters
1/2 cup milk 1 egg 2 tbl. melted butter 1 tbl. orange peel 1/2 cup chopped apples (with skin on) 1 tes. vanilla 1 1/2 cups cake flour 1/4 tsp salt 1 tbl. baking powder 1/2 cup sugar
Blend sugar with all wet ingredients. Fold in orange peel, salt and baking power. Fold in flour, fold in chopped apples. Do not over mix. Drop spoonfuls of batter in 325 degree oil and fry until golden brown. Warning...you can't stop eating these

1 qt. apple juice 1 cup orange juice 1 cup pineapple juice 1/4 cup lemon juice. Mix and serve over ice. Serves six.
This is so so good!!

You get to choose which soup you want....I love their Vegetable Soup...it has a kick to it!

I had the fried chicken, green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy....HMMMM so Good!
We went for lunch which is less expensive. If you go for supper you do get a choice of dessert. We are never able to eat the dessert...we take it to go. LOL

If you are ever in the Pigeon Forge area....Applewood Farms is a must! Be prepared to wait....doesn't matter what day or time of the day...You will have to wait. They do take reservations :) Click here to read all about the Applewood Farmhouse and Barn.

On to more news....We spent 7 hours Tuesday at the ER...first we went to the DR office....then the Dr said..."Go straight to the Hospital" Why??? My hubby has been having abdominal pain for the last 3 days. After the DR running his test and feeling around...he sent us straight to the ER...he said a Surgeon would be waiting on us when we arrived. When we arrived the surgeon ran a CAT scan... later....when the CAT scan came back they could not find any signs of Appendicitis....PTL....I want to say...that when we was leaving the DRS. office the DR. told us he would be praying, I thank God for a Dr. that would pray for his patients.

Tassel News....I will be taking the Etsy shop down on Thursday, due to the upcoming show this weekend, so if there is a Tassel you have been eyeing you might want to grab it soon.

Christmas decorating....has been put on hold!!! I am a feeling a little overwhelmed with everything lately....but when I get something, anything done I will show you.

I want to thank each one of you that take the time to stop by and visit! Your visits mean so much. I have met so many wonderful gals through blogging...I would never have imagined I would have enjoyed anything like this so much! You all are so friendly and talented. I think you ALL have fabulous blogs and I enjoy my visits with you also. I hope you all have a wonderful day and week...I might not be able to come around as much the rest of the week, I will have to catch up ASAP. I will take plenty of pictures of the show this coming weekend! Talk to you all soon. Blessings to you all! Nancy

I just love apple fritters even Riley,( our bird )loves them, ( apperantly. ) I bought some from a local bakery recently. I left one at home and was thinking about it ALL day while at work. I came home and started digging around my refrigerator and husband asked me what I was looking for. I told him MY apple fritter. He said " Riley ate it"....lol. I will definately try this recipe.

You sure have been mighty busy! I'm so pleased that your DH did not have to have surgery, but I imagine that the stress of the situation did not fade away as easily.
Take a few minutes to just be - I think you really need it. Sending prayers up for you that you will be covered in a complete sense of peace and calm.

I hope your hubby is feeling better and yes, I too have a Dr. that prays. He used to always pray with me before each round of fertility shots or procedures so he is a VERY special DR. to us cause we ended up with our Lexi.

I hope that your hubby is feeling better. It is such a good thing that your doctor prays. The Applewood Farms grounds restaurants look wonderful. The apple fritters remind me of my grandmother. She made them in the"outer kitchen." Good luck with your show.
