A little change for the area that runs everything in this home....After last weeks P.O.O.P.I.E. post I decided it was time for this huge POOPIE monster, sitting here below, TO GO! This whole area needed a face lift...LOL:) So here we go.
This is the before....I can't believe I have become a person that lets
Papers lay around...I used to fuss at my Mom for doing this and now I do it. If I hide them I forget I have them, at least I keep them on the desk and not everywhere else.

What in the world was I thinking....when we built this house, I wanted this big shelf above the desk for holding the printer, and it did hold it for a long time. Now we have a wireless printer that sits in hubby's office, so I don't need this shelf anymore. We have thought about taking it out and putting in a cabinet to fill up the space, but we're not sure.

I came up with this for now and it works good. After seeing other Bloggers do it, I lined the back of the shelf with scrap book paper and I love it, I can change it out and it only cost pennies! The big basket came from
Southern Market....I will be showing you all about
Southern Market one day...it's fabulous! The note book on the right came from Office Max. There is a box sitting on the left of the basket that is covered in black and white damask fabric, I found it at Marshall for $4 on clearance. I am looking for a black wooden book holder to stand in on that left side, then I will move that fabric box to my desk.

Here's a after look at how it turned out. The Ivy Monster is going to the yard sale boxes in the garage. I moved the teapot lamp to the other end of the desk.

This black wooden box came from Marshall's and it works perfect for my files, before I had a copper container that the files really didn't fit in.

Remember
Mr Rooster from another Post....well, I just didn't care for that cream color that he was....so I painted him white, but did not completely cover him, he has enough cream to give him a shabby look.

This was a black wood frame I bought from the $ General Store for $3.50. I painted the white polka dots on and added the green bow. Oh that picture is our niece Emily on her 3rd birthday, now she is almost 4.

The
N came from Hobby Lobby, I just painted it black.
If you haven't seen the post below, check it out if you have time. I was the winner of Rhonda's Giveaway and let me tell you.....She was very generous! Thank you Rhonda!
Hope everyone has a great day!!! ~Nancy~

I adore black and white as you can tell from my blog design!lol Someday my house will have the same look!?? Have a great weekend - Jeannette
You've done a lovely job. I'm so envious of your desk area. I am hoping to have one someday and I'd be thrilled if it was half as nice as yours.
Nancy, It was fine before, but your redesign is just beautiful!
This looks beautiful! I'm inspired to do something with my own now. Thanks! Come over and sign up for a giveaway at my place. Bring friends!
Nancy,
Your desk area looks so cute. I used to have a desk in my old kitchen and so miss it. I would love to convert our hutch area in our kitchen but hubbie won't consider giving up his little area. Oh well, love what you have done with your space.
Hugs,
Sue
Hi again Nancy! I just left Homegoods and checked to make sure I didn't give you wrong info re desk stuff; they still have lots of black but mine didn't really have any book holders? I'm waiting for my hubby to finish work so I'm in his office!lol Just to let you know I was thinking of you plus I had to sneak another peak of this beautiful work area! Have a great Sunday - Jeannette
Wow! Gorgeous desk - I love how you have deorated it! I just found your blog and have really enjoyed reading through it. I hope you don't mind, I'd love to add you to my blogroll so that I can come back again to visit! Have a great weekend!
~Erin
What a beautiful tranformation! I thought it was fine before, but this is fabulous! I love the black and white combination and sneak it in wherever I can! I LOVE that tea pot lamp!!! And thank you for the kind comments in your previous post! I am blushing! :) I am so glad you liked your goodies and congrats again for winning my give-away! I got the return stamp from a girl off of Ebay. She was in Ca. I believe! I'll try to see if I can find her seller id! She had a pretty quick turn-around. I ordered one for myself, to do Christmas cards with, and loved it so good, I ordered a bunch more for Christmas gifts! She has many different fonts and styles to choose from! And her prices were $10 cheaper than in town here! So the recipients that got them for Christmas were really impressed! LOL! I LOVE mine! It really comes in handy! You can get them in just your initial to, and they are self-inking!
Hope you are having a great weekend! :) ~Rhonda
Oh so pretty Nancy ! I love your cozy desk area.
The after looks great! I especially liked the frame. I wish I had talent to do things like that.

Your "before" photo looks a LOT better than how my desk looks right now!
Hey Nancy - just stopped by from sits. You wouldn't believe it, but we have almost the same thing going with our office space. I have almost the same color on the walls with a black desk, but I have blue accents. I'm a yankee I guess, but we just moved back north after five years in the South. We lived there while I went to school at Crichton College in Memphis. We miss our Southern friends. Although, I definitely don't miss the food, I just never grew accustomed to Southern food. Great to meet you.
You have totally inspired me!!!
LOVE the black!
Very cute and creative!!! What a great talent... and eye for re-do's!!!
:)
